Relationship building using the 7MTF

Beautiful bride in a white dress. Couple in a summer field.

Since June 2025, I have been using Facebook as a marketing tool to try and sell my books and my courses. And it has not been a big success.   Each day I receive 5-10 Friend Requests; 90% are females looking for a partner.  I have sold one course, and sold one book.

So, I am changing strategy, and I am going to describe how 7MTF can help you find and develop a long-term relationship.

To begin I believe there are four levels of, of friendships:

  1. At the lowest level Facebook friend, where you text each other backwards and forwards. And you exchange photos. I am not interested in being a Facebook friend.
  2. Level 2 is where you have met someone face-to-face personally and have a sexual attraction, and you become a Friend With benefits, an FWB as they say.
  3. Level 3 is when you can decide you’ve met the one, a partner who you want to marry and be in a relationship for the rest of your life, this is an emotional reaction.
  4. Finally, you may be married with children, in which sense you’ve developed a logical attraction to your partner. This is Level 4.   The family has been described as the best social welfare system ever invented.  I have just turned 81 and I can only agree.  One of my great comforts is knowing that there are two families (my two daughters’) to help while Vivienne and I age.  Our peers who have raised their children to be responsible adults are in much better shape than those who do not have children.

The general rule on relationships is we like people who are like us.  Moreover, one of the great mistakes most managers make is they only recruit people who are like themselves, Whereas if you’re trying to build up a team, the important thing is building diversity by trying to find team members who are not like you and hire people who compensate for your weaknesses.

And I think the same applies to marriage.  What you want is not just someone who will be a good partner and a good parent, but someone who – effectively compensates for your weaknesses.

For example, in my case, one of my dominant EQ temperament traits is Politician. I can be assertive in my language which results is many people describing me as too aggressive. While my wife, on the other hand, is a Doublechecker.  And my Doublechecker is weak.  You couldn’t work in venture capital i for 25 years if you had a high Doublechecker. You’ would just perceive too many risks.

On the other hand, my wife, Vivienne, is very diligent in making decisions.  She found the house we have lived in since November 1984.  It has been brilliant. We have raised a family here, two daughters. Both are now married, and both have children. They both used the 7MTF searching for Mr Right.  All I can say is from a small sample, it has had some success.

How can the 7MTF help you find and develop a long-term relationship?  Your first step is for you do this simple 5-minute quiz.  It is the first step in any of my 7MTF training programs.

You can then make a free 30 minute interview with me to discuss your results and decide on the next step.

You have three choices:

1, Invest in a copy of The Humm Handbook and read it.

I have written three hard copy books last book that I wrote for my elder daughter: The Humm Handbook: Lifting your level of emotional intelligence.   She had just been head-hunted to manage 30 people before she was 30 and asked me what management books she should read.  I told\ her hat the most important skill for managers was emotional intelligence and when I could not find a suitable book, I wrote her one myself.

If you live in Australia and want a copy of The Humm Handbook please order it here and I will mail you a hard copy.

If you do not live in Australia order the book here: and I will e-mail you a PDF of the book.  If you want a hard copy email at cgolis@emotionalintelligencecourse.com and I will work out the postage you will have to pay.

  1. You can invest A$25 and 5 hours of your time and do my Introduction course
